ABOUT

Tara Jan Parekh was born in Towson, Maryland, in 1981. She earned a Master of Arts degree in Digital Photography from Savannah College of Art and Design and a Bachelor of Science degree in New Media Publishing from Rochester Institute of Technology.

Tara began taking photographs at a very young age, but it wasn’t until middle school when she started to develop her talent. She began attending Maryland Summer Center for the Arts at Goucher College. It was at this summer camp where she was exposed to traditional photographic techniques. Ever since then, she was hooked!

Today Tara photographs a diverse range of subjects, but specializes in wedding and nature photography. Her photographs are featured in her two books: Oatland Island: Photographs and History, and 2002 Photographs of Thailand and Cambodia.
