George Washington’s Mount Vernon, located in Mount Vernon, Virginia, offers a unique and meaningful setting for members of the United States Armed Forces to hold brief military ceremonies after hours on the estate. Nestled on the banks of the Potomac River, this historic site provides a powerful backdrop that connects the past and present in a way few locations can.

On a humid and hot summer evening, just after a passing rainstorm, we gathered to document this United States Air Force retirement ceremony.
